I'm so sick and tired of the liars and thieves in this corrupt government—from the clueless, moronic "Decider", to his acolytes throughout his rotten, fetid administration, the Republican Party, and the national "news" media. For five years they have cynically and shamelessly attempted to conflate the terrorist attacks of 9/11 with the illegal invasion of Iraq and the never-to-end "Global War on Terror."
I'm equally fatigued and ashamed of the inept and useless opposition, the Democratic Party—from Harry Reid, to Nancy Pelosi, to Hillary Clinton—a caucus of craven political cowardice and moral bankruptcy, that, despite the election results of 2006, has time and again allowed the belligerent "Decider" to have his way with his delusional terror war, which he has maniacally ratcheted up in the months since the election.
And now he's talking of expanding the war into Iran.
From the recent American Legion Convention in Las Vegas: "Iran's actions threaten the security of nations everywhere. ... We will confront this danger before it is too late."
Have we heard this before?
Expect to hear a "crescendo bellicoso" from the "Chorus of the Willing" in the coming months—from Fox News, The Weekly Standard, The Putrid Punditocracy—as they all speculate upon, (and genuflect before), the ultimate wisdom of the "Decider."
Pat Buchanan, no liberal, has
recently written, "What is to prevent Bush from attacking Iran and widening the war, at a time and place of his choosing, and sooner than we think?"
"Nothing and no one."
This is a depressing comment on the state of the republic; a grave condition which seems to matter to no one, and for those to whom it should matter—our elected representatives, and our "free" press—means nothing.
